SCOPE OF EXHIBIT:
This is a JUDGED show opportunity and competition, not a juried show opportunity. If the submitted artwork meets the criteria specified in the show prospectus and presentation guidelines, work will be accepted at intake and included in the exhibit. Please read the entire prospectus for complete information.
SUBMISSION PROCESS & ENTRY FEE:

Submissions must be received by 5pm on Monday, May 12th, 2025. Applications or artwork images submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. Incomplete submissions will NOT be considered.
Entry Fee - $35 for students (high-school or college level) and MA members in good standing (limit 2 works); $50 Non-members (limit of 2 works). Only pay entry fee ONCE. Entry fees are non-refundable.
CALENDAR:
***IMPORTANT NOTE: All works must remain on display for the duration of the show and be picked up on the designated removal dates. If you are unable to arrange for your work to be picked up on the designated dates, please contact the Gallery Director (contact info listed below on page 3) to make other arrangements. Works not picked up within 10 days will become the property of Mooresville Arts.

ELIGIBILITY:
Artists 18 years of age or older may submit up to a total of TWO entries (please note the change in number of maximum entries for this show). Eligibility may be given to some artists 14-17 years of age; please email us for details. The artwork must be the artist’s own original creation in concept, composition and execution.
All types of Fine Art Photography accepted. Acceptable examples include, but are not limited to: film photography, digital photography, altered shots, alternative processes (please email the Gallery Director for any further questions on media eligibility if unsure).
Work produced from other artists’ photographs, advertisements, websites, art books, other artists’ works, commercial images, as well as artwork created in a workshop or class or under the direction of an instructor is not allowed for entry. Work must have been completed after May 1, 2023, and not exhibited in ANY previous show sponsored by Mooresville Arts. There is no theme for this show.
Artwork must be created 100% by the artist; images must originate as photographs made by the artist. They may not incorporate identifiable images produced by anyone else (clip art, replacement skies, or stock images). Images created in whole or in part by image creation software (frequently called ‘AI’ images) are not allowed. Generative AI used to add elements not part of the original image is not allowed. Other tools contained in image editing software such as Photoshop, Lightroom, On1 that use AI are allowed as long as they do not substantially alter the original image.
Artists who are sponsoring parties of this show, or family members of, are still eligible to apply but those artists’ entries will not be considered for judging/awards. Family members of show Judges/ Jurors are also eligible to apply for the show but will not be considered for judging/awards.

Traci Arney & Clayton Joe Young
Traci Arney
Traci Arney, born in Rockwell, North Carolina (1973), holds a BFA in Photo Studies from Arizona State University (1996) and studied at Oxford University, England. Her photography, crafted in the digital darkroom, reflects the imaginative landscapes of her inner world.
Arney’s work has been featured in exhibitions at Oxford University (1999), the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel, California (2025), and the Chelsea International Fine Art Competition in New York (2002). She has received accolades, including a grant from the Arts and Science Council (2025).
An experienced educator, Arney teaches workshops and mentors emerging photographers in fine art techniques and storytelling. Her work blends realism with imagination, creating enduring images that resonate deeply. Arney is honored to serve as a judge for this fine art photography show.
Clayton Joe Young
Clayton Joe Young is the author of twelve books which include collaborations with nationally renowned poets Scott Owens and Tim Peeler. Young won Best of Show at the Appalachian Mountain Photography Exhibit (2011) and work has been exhibited throughout the United States in solo and juried exhibitions including the North Carolina Museum of Art, Elon University, the Gutstein Gallery in Savannah, GA, Center for Visual Arts in Greensboro, NC, The Larson Gallery in Yakima, WA, and Mark Arts in Wichita, KS.
He has earned a MA in Digital Photography and MFA in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He is credentialed as a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) and Master of Photography from Professional Photographers of America. Young is the Director and Senior Professor for the Photographic Technology Program at Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory, NC. His work studies the effects of nostalgia in relation to family histories and memory.

SALES:
Please note all submissions to our show will be displayed in our galleries, and if so desired, for sale. Mooresville Arts will assess a 30% commission for members and 40% for non-members on all work sold. Payment to artists will be made at the conclusion of the exhibit.
LIABILITY:
Mooresville Arts will do everything possible to keep each piece safe. However, submission of an entry is at the artist’s own risk. The declared value of the work must be reasonable and in line with the artist’s previous sales.
